Shauna Tewksbury studied photography at Prescott College in the mid-1990s. She was lucky enough to be able to use the college’s commitment to experiential education to immerse herself in photography, especially the historical processes. Shauna then proceeded to make a living as a photographer and decorative painter. Shauna painted tipis professionally for seven years. She has combined her love of the photographic image with the tangible organic addition of mixed media processes, such as encaustic layering and adding pigments to her one-of-a-kind pieces. In 2012 she won a portrait contest in Telluride, Colorado at the Ah Haa School of the Arts. Shauna was also a founding member of the Mountain Girl Gallery located in Ridgway, Colorado
